The Port of Södertälje

Södertälje is located south of Stockholm, at the entrance to Lake Mälaren. Södertälje is one of the main ports for car imports in Sweden.

The Port is owned by Telge Energi and the Municipality of Södertälje

Vessels with a length of up to 200 m and a draft of 9.0 m are accepted by the port.

The Port of Västerås

Västerås is located on the east coast of Sweden in Lake Mälaren, and is the main port in the area. The Port is operated by Mälarhamnar and owned by the Municipalities of Köping and Västerås.

The port handles oil products, forest products, containers, de-icing salt, grain and fertilizers.

The port is restricted by the lock at Södertälje which only accepts vessels up to 124.0 m in length, 18.0 m in beam and a draft of 6.8 m in FW.

The Port of Nynäshamn

Nynäshamn is located south of Stockholm and comprise the Nynäs Refinery and the commercial port. The latter is owned by the Municipality of Nynäshamn.

A new port, Norviksudden, is currently under pending environmental approval.

The port handles bitumen products, crude oil, oil products, lubricants, ro/ro and cruise and a new LNG terminal is under construction. Vessels up to VLCC size are accepted by the port.

The Port of Stenungsund

The port of Stenungsund is located on the Swedish west coast at Askeröfjorden, approximately 50 km north of Gothenburg.

Main commodities are petro chemicals and Borealis AB is the largest operator. The most common cargoes are naphtha, chemicals and LPG.

The largest harbour areas are Havden (Borealis terminal) and Vattenfall (Powerboard terminal) with a max draft of 11.5 m.

The Port of Helsingborg

The port of Helsingborg is the second largest port in Sweden and is located on the west coast north of Malmö. Around 30 shipping lines are calling at Helsingborg, and the ferry traffic between Helsingborg and Elsinore in Denmark is intensive. The port is owned by the municipality of Helsingborg.

All types of commodities are handled including oils, chemicals, industrial goods, perishables, dry bulk cargoes, containers, flats and trailers.

Gävle is located north of Stockholm, in the Bay of Bothnia, and is one of the main ports in Sweden.

The port handles all jet fuel for Stockholm Arlanda Airport, as well as forest products, metal scrap, coffee, containers and oil products.

Port is owned by municipal of Gävle.

Vessels are accepted with a length of up to 220 m.
