The Port of Tallinn

Port of Tallinn is the biggest port authority in Estonia and when including both cargo and passenger traffic, it is the biggest port on the shores of the Baltic Sea. Port of Tallinn is state owned and operates with no cargo handling operations of its own. It is maintaining and developing the infrastructure of the port and leasing territories to terminal operators.

Port of Tallinn consists of five constituent harbours (Old City Marina in addition, being a part of Old City Harbour):

•  Old City Harbour and Old City Marina
•  Muuga Harbour
•  Paldiski South Harbour
•  Paljassaare Harbour
•  Saaremaa Harbour
 

Main cargoes handles are oil, bulk (coal, fertilisers, cereal grains, scrap iron, gravel etc), general cargoes (timber, metal, etc), containers, roro and cruise.

The Port has a depth of 18 m and is capable of accommodating vessels up to VLCC size and cruise vessels of more than 300 m loa.

In severe winters ice restrictions may be enforced.
