Dear Customers and Business Partners.
With the recent geographical growth of Maersk Broker Agency into Sweden and Norway, we will on inquiry from many of our customers expand our port folio of shipping services.
Thus, we have the great pleasure in informing that as of August 2011 we will introduce short sea chartering to our activities. The function will focus on dry cargo short sea chartering and heavy lift transportation, complementing the already existing activities within ship agency and project logistics throughout Maersk Broker Agency. Geographically, our coverage comprises the Scandinavia/Baltic Sea/North European range.
Adding the chartering function to our already broad range of shipping services, will enable us to offer our customers a total end-to-end transportation package including chartering, forwarding, logistics, agency, documentation, etc.
To take up the challenge of developing these activities, we have formed dedicated organisation working out of Norrköping, Sweden, as follows:
- Per Salokannel joins Maersk Broker Sweden AB on 15 August 2011, as broker, placed in Norrköping. Per comes with senior chartering experience from Österströms Rederi, and in his new function, Per will report functionally to Anders Christensen, Director.
- Rasmus M. Rasmussen joins the team in Norrköping 1 September 2011, doing operations for the short sea chartering activities.
- Anders Christensen, Director of Maersk Broker Agency, and working out of Copenhagen, will head the short sea chartering team. Anders has vast experience in this segment and has worked as chartering broker for several years.
